So Much to Say.

Jonah has become quite the talker lately, which really does not surprise us considering his parents! This night in particular, he had a lot to say, so we captured it to share. He sounds mad, but he really isn't. I think he just has so much to say and gets frustrated when he can't quite articulate what it is he is thinking.

No words needed!

Here are some random pictures from this past week. Nothing exciting to report from this weekend, but didn't want to keep anyone from seeing this sweet mug!

Is it me, or does he look freakishly long here?

3 Months

Stats from today's visit:

Weight: 12.5 lbs
Length: 25 in
Head: 16.5 in

Milestones:

Jonah smiles constantly and is a super happy, calm baby. He can stare at his hands for minutes on end and thinks they are the coolest things around. He refuses to nap during the day - and I mean, the kid DOES NOT nap. He sleeps for about a 7 hour stretch at night and likes to go to bed early (hmm, maybe because he doesn't nap).

He laughs, but he is a tough crowd and has to think you are really funny! He's not crazy about tummy time, but is any baby? He loves his car seat/stroller (the one chance you have at getting him to sleep), hanging out on his back and talking. He talks alot, sometimes yelling out of frustration because I think he really thinks he has a lot to say. He is the only person in the world who likes to hear Ryan and me sing: but "Single Ladies" is out and "Take me out to the Ballgame" is way in!

We are told constantly he is alert and he gets frequent compliments on his big blue eyes. Everyone says he looks just like his dad, but I see a bit of me in him sometimes ... or maybe that is just wishful thinking!

We are so lucky to have such a wonderful little man in our lives!

Hello, gorgeous!

Just some more random pictures for last week:

“You've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I
feel lucky?' Well, do ya, punk?"

“I’m kind of a big deal.”

"I am big! It's the pictures that got small!"

"You talking to me?"

Any man can be a father. It takes someone special to be a dad.

This past week, the weather was perfect and Ryan wrapped up his 2nd year and had a week off! While we spent lots of time getting projects done around the house, we still managed to fit in lots of down time as a family. Ryan got to spend lots of time with Jonah and even at this young age, the two of them have a relationship that is different than what Jonah and I have. For instance:

Jonah prefers to "talk" to his dad. This Babl will babble (couldn't help myself!) to Ryan for hours on end!

Jonah likes to perform all gross bodily functions on his dad. Ryan has been peed on countless more time than me and if Jonah is constipated, put him on Ryan's lap!

Jonah loves to hear Ryan read. At some point, we'll have to trade in our sci-fi novels for something more kid friendly, but at this point I am pretty sure he just likes hearing his voice.

Look what I found!

My hand! This is from a couple of weeks ago, but the concentration was so intense, I thought I would share.

Halloween Weekend Nonsense - In Pictures

Jonah and I started off the weekend enjoying a little football and letting Ryan get some studying in before we hit the Halloween festivities. I left the room to grab something from the kitchen and came back to find this:

The weather cleared and it turned out to be a beautiful afternoon. We were already at the gym for a workout, so we decided to get cleaned up and head out for the Crestline Halloween parade. I will just mention that when we left the house, it was cold and rainy. A few hours later, it was sunny and georgeous. I think Jonah may have been a little over dressed!

He gave me this look, like "Oh Mom, what were you thinking putting me in this foolish getup!"

Posing with my sweet little bear after the parade.

Capturing a sweet moment before we packed up and went home. Jonah fell asleep in the 4 minute drive home. What an exhausting first Halloween!
