I feel kinda silly .....

blogging about the weekend on a Friday! Last weekend we finally had the glorious weather I moved to the South for! Temps were in the upper 60's and the sky was clear. We spent every moment trying to enjoy the warm air with walks, trips to the Botanical Gardens and cookouts. Jonah is totally digging his jogging stroller. While I miss being face to face with him (like in his carseat) he likes his new found freedom of seeing the world from all new directions. This weekend does not look to be so promising on the weather front, with a cold, clear forcast. Seriously, where is spring?

*On a side note, he may be a little guy, but that hat is an 18 month and fits him perfect, hence the 95% head size. Again, I am pretty sure it's to house that big brain of his!

A picture is worth a thousand words!

I took tons of pictures this weekend in spirit of the gorgeous weather we had! Due to the computer malfunctions I am experiencing, I will have to post the rest later. These were taken during Jonah's "photo shoot". The camera sure likes him, huh?

Roses and Huskers are red .....

Jonah received a Valentine's Day package from his Valentine in Nebraska, Grandma B. What an awesome package full of pajamas, a Husker bib and sippy cup and of course, his new sweatshirt. And with the winter we are having (see below) we may need it for a while! Thanks Grandma!

Nebraska's littlest fan!

So, it's a little big ... I'll grow into it!

Today, Jonah was "full of cuteness" ... but then again, isn't he always?

As previously mentioned, Friday work and school were cut short due to snow. While it was only about 3 inches, I will admit, it's the most snow I have seen in Alabama. While Jonah enjoyed a rare 2 hour nap, the dogs and I played out back. Ok, I didn't do much playing, but the dogs, Bones, especially, just LOVE the cold weather. You'd never know he was 10 years old as he runs around like a puppy, digging his nose in the snow!

Can you spot Bones in the sea of white that was our backyard?

6 Month Update - Long, Lean, Sitting Machine

Wow! It's hard to believe we have a 6 month old! Here are the stats from his appointment today:

Weight: 13lbs 11 oz ............... 5th Percentile
Length: 26.5 inches ............... 60th Percentile
Head: 17 3/4 inches ................ 95th Percentile

So, Jonah is a long, lean dude with a big dome (to house that equally big brain, I'm sure). Doc didn't seem too concerned about his weight and assured me that I had an obviously happy, healthy, growing child. He sleeps from 7:30am - 7pm most nights waking only once for a quick meal. We will be adding in some fruits and veggies soon ..... every calorie counts, right!

Milestones: Jonah can sit up unsupported for a couple of minutes at a time. He is a little roly poly and is quite mobile rolling around. He smiles all the time, loves everyone and laughs at the weirdest things. He is definitely aware of who his parents are and squeals with joy when we pick him up in the afternoons. He can transfer toys back and forth between hands and thinks he knows how to play patty-cake. No teeth yet, but his drooling has increase, so it's coming.

Likes: Bath time with dad. Snuggling. Hanging in the jogging stroller. Drooling. His parents' singing. The camera/cellphone. The Colts. Tags: on blankets, clothes, you name it. Playing Peek-a-Boo. Watching Tilly.

Dislikes: Taking more than a catnap during the day. When you take away a piece of paper he has saturated. Getting out of the bath. Waiting for food. Not much makes this guy mad!

He never fails to laugh when you:
Yell "Go Colts or Da Bears" or Tell him: "Pshhh Whatever" - don't ask!
He must have his father's unique, dry sense of humor!

We are so looking forward to the next 6 months of his first year!

Every little boy should have a pair of overalls.

Even if they have no hair and no teeth to go with!

That gummy grin goes with everything!

Love this face! And the funny hat!

Happy 3rd Birthday Hayden!

We love you!

Go Blue!

In case anyone forgot, today is Super Bowl Sunday and Jonah is sporting his hand-me-down Colts gear. And sitting up by himself!

Note the recent hair growth!!

I have a hilarious video of him laughing to "Go Colts" but I can't get it to load. Maybe later!

Perhaps this photo .....

Would have been more appropriate for the last post.

Some "firsts" are not ones you look forward to.

We had a "first" this week. First sick visit to the doctor. Jonah has been battling a serious case of the sniffles for nearly a week including a couple days out of school with a *fever*. By *fever*, I mean, his teacher said he had a temp of 100.1, which is just enough for a 24-hour hiatus from daycare. We continued to take his temperature 1,424 times since then without a single reading over 99.

Tuesday, after a call in to the nurse, we took him in. Long story short, he checked out fine with a diagnosis of either a virus, a result of cold weather or teething. I am so looking forward to the day when I can ask him what's wrong and get an answer. Whatever the problem, our little trooper has been nothing but happy, sweet and talkative these last few days. I haven't shot many photos lately, but I had this video I have been meaning to post, although it was taken prior to his nasal issues, but who wants to see a runny nose?

*Sorry, I don't know how to rotate it to be upright!
