Easter!

It may have just been the 3 (and a half) of us for Easter, but we celebrated in style, nonetheless. Jonah woke up to an Easter basket full of bubbles, a kite, 2 Pocoyo videos and lots of other small goodies!

"Yeah, yeah, this Pocoyo video is alright.... moving on" ~Jonah

The kite really caught his attention, so we headed to the nearby field to try it out.

These two don't look related or anything?

Backing up to Saturday, we went over to a local Easter egg hunt which was a bit of a bust. However, Jonah was super interested in the Easter bunny, (I would NEVER make him sit up there without his *consent*) so we thought, heck, get on up there. You can't exactly tell how overly excited he is from this photo, but I think they left as buds.

Wedding Weekend!

Although the wedding was actually last weekend, I wanted our "news" post to run all week so I saved this one. We went up to Arab, Alabama (yes, it was our first time) to a friend's wedding - actually two of Ryan's classmates and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and lovely evening. It was a little freakishly cold for those 24 hours, but that didn't stop our man from making his own dance floor inside the barn. Nothing can keep him from breaking it down!

Family shot!

Jonah dance for HOURS! He was quite the hit and even had about 4 women offer to take him home!

Hanging with 2 of his favorite people, Jenna and Charlie!

"Give me another piece of cake or I squeeze!"

Sweet boy .... who, as you can see from his face, got plenty of cake.

Guess What Jonah is going to be for Halloween?

That's right, a BIG BROTHER! Little Halloween Babl Bean is due to arrive on November 2. We are thrilled and equally glad to finally reveal our "secret news" as it seems the 2nd-time-around belly is a little harder to hide!

We are all about change at the Babl household. Not only are we adding to our family, but April 29 is my last day of full-time work (I will stick around for a few months *very* part-time to ease the transition) and this week I will enter a new decade! Ahhh, at least in this case, all this change is a good thing. We are so lucky.

The Family Stones

Let me take a quick second to bring you up to speed on our precious stones. Thursday morning Jonah and I are enjoying a quiet morning together, cleaning up the house with the impending arrival of Ro Ro, when the phone rings for the 3rd time in 2 minutes. (Maybe I should answer that?) It's Ryan, who should have been finishing up his week before heading to Nebraska for a quick trip to fulfil his godfatherly duties. "Can you guys come get me and take me to the doctor? My back hurts really bad and I made an appointment." says Ryan.

Ok, red flag, I have known Ryan to go to the doctor like 1 time ever in our 7.5 years together. So I dressed in a hurry and head out the door. Once Ryan was in the car, I could tell things were bad and the drive to the doc, turned into our first ever trip to the ER.

Vommiting, CT scans and morphine turned out to be kidney stones. Which we figured considering his symptoms. About 5 hours later, Ryan was home, trying to relax with the help of a little Percocet. It was a rough couple of days, but sure enough Sunday morning that sucker came out and it was all uphill from there! Ryan was able to spend the weekend resting while I had my mom in town to entertain me and deflect some of the WWE smackdown Jonah usually inflicts on Daddy!

All was well in the world once more Sunday afternoon when Jonah had his Daddy back!
PS- can I just take a quick second to say the formatting on blogspot sucks! Yes, I know my paragraphs are not evenly spaced, nor are my pictures, but for the life of me, I cannot fix it!

Ro Ro!

This boy is so smitten with Ro Ro, it will melt your heart! It probably didn't hurt that she came bearing gifts in the form of a golf bag!

Jonah loved showing Ro Ro his secret spot back behind the bushes.

He sat on this rock forever and tried to hide from us.

We ate a ton, played outside, took a trip to Railroad Park and played, played, played. It was a great weekend, that, like all our weekends was over before we knew it. See you soon Ro Ro.

And so, our fashion experiments continue!

At least these were Daddy's shoes this time around.

We're all about allowing creative liberties in our house. Unless, of course, your father is a physical therapist, then you better watch out because "that's a really great way to roll an ankle". Geez, what a downer.

If this is your thing, Jonah, go on with your bad self!
