Jonah's Big, Beachy 2nd Birthday!

What a Happy 2nd Birthday Jonah had! We were lucky enough to celebrate with Grandma & Papa Babl AND be on the beach! It was just an all-around great trip - wonderful weather, crystal clear ocean, good food and great company. Jonah really enjoyed playing in the sand, building sand castles and getting buried! He also enjoyed splashing in the ocean and spending some downtime with his Grandparents that he doesn't get to see all too often.

This is only about half the photos, but I didn't want a super long post! Jonah also had his 2 year check up this morning, so we've got stats to add as well. So be looking for another post this week!

Florence, Alabama ..... not Italy

Follow up from Jonah's dance video, here are some pictures from our weekend in Florence. Because we were staying the night, we had time to check out the town on Saturday and Sunday between wedding festivities. Jonah especially enjoyed running around University of North Alabama's campus and meeting UNA and Leo, the schools mascots and twin LIONS! Right on campus.

He's Got His Daddy's Dance Moves!

This weekend we took a trip up north to Florence, AL for our good friends, Jenna and Charlie's beautiful wedding. Jonah stole the show on the dance floor. He spent a solid 2 hours busting moves and breaking a sweat. Lots of pictures of the weekend to come in second post.

Whirlwind Memphis Trip with Ro Ro!

What a fun, fast and driving-packed weekend we had. Jonah and I accompanied Ro Ro for a trip up to Memphis to visit her future puppy, meet some miniature donkeys and take a dip in the pool.

So, first off ... those precious puppies! So sweet and tiny, we couldn't get enough!

Celebrating the 4th

We had such a great time celebrating the 4th of July (on the 3rd of July!). We decided to take a chance and head out to Chelsea family fun night and fireworks out at Chelsea Park on Sunday, forgoing the BIG Thunder on the Mountain traffic-jammed chaos that is Birmingham fireworks! Good thing too, the weather didn't cooperate too great on Monday leaving it really muggy after a good soaking - we were glad to be inside.

Part of the decision was made on the chance Jonah may not enjoy himself. HA! Could we be more wrong? From the moment we arrive at the event, Jonah grabbed Ryan and beelined for the stage, only stopping to check out where the bubbles were coming from! He danced to the music and ask "More music?" when it stopped. He played with the free beach balls and entertained the entire crowd sitting near us.

Then the fireworks started. Jonah sat on Ryan's lap and watched every single firework. He was completely enthralled. He'd turn to us and say "here that?" or "see that?" and gave a big round of applause when they wrapped up. He told us on the car ride home that "fireworks were awesome"!

As Jonah gets older, his interest in posing for pictures has pretty much vanished. He will say "cheese" but he is looking nowhere near the camera! So, this is the best I could do before the sun went down.

All he needs is a little techno music!
