What a fun weekend! My friend Cody and her mom Debbie made the trip from Washington to visit (and attend a workshop that ended up cancelled!) We had such a great time with them and I think Jonah won them over. He was equally smitten, especially by Cody, who he would steal glances at, but then turn his head and smile - as if that child had a shy bone in him.
Friday night we had Jim n' Nicks and it was fabulous. We had not been in a long time and it was so yummy. Jonah ate what seemed like half of my plate, including all of my macaroni. He and the waiter had some kind of special bond going on and he commented on how Jonah "is the coolest baby in the world." I wonder if he changed his mind when he saw the pile of dropped food on the floor under Jo's highchair?
Saturday morning the boys and I hit up Mountain Brook park, after a pit stop at Starbucks of course, for some good, old-fashioned fun on the play ground. Jonah is really into the swings right now and loved the slide with help from Dad. He also met a little girlfriend, born 6 days before him, who he stared at from afar before they patted each other on the head for a few minutes.
Thinking he is big time. He is such a little monkey, he kept grabbing the bars when Ryan was ready to go down the slide. The kid is freakishly strong!
Saturday evening we had Cody and Debbie over for dinner - a cookout courtesy of Ryan. They showered Jonah with gifts and he was pretty psyched! He especially like this toy which he just hopped on like he'd been doing it his whole life. Or maybe he was just glad we've upgraded from the cardboard diaper box!
