15 Months

Why does 15 months seem harder to swallow than a year? Maybe it’s because at 15 months we have a full-blown toddler? Gone are the days of crawling; suddenly walking and running become Jonah’s sole mode of getting around these days. His personality is in full swing as he becomes an individual, showcasing all his quirky habits, like having to have 2 of every kind of food, one for each hand, before he’ll eat or how he fake sneezes anytime anyone in the house achoos! He continues to be our little comedian – doing anything for a laugh including standing on his head or blowing raspberries, even if it’s on the dogs.

Jonah talks a lot, but his favorites continue to be “this”, “that” and “uh oh”. In many ways, communication with him is easier; he signs “more” and “milk” and can asked to be picked up or put down, but other times, he gets so frustrated as he yells “THHHHAT” and we struggle to know what “that” is! Although I often wonder if he knows what “that” is!

We spent this past weekend with Jonah sleeping poorly and clinging to me like glue while we were dealing with yet another fever virus. But he received a clean bill of health at his 15 month appointment yesterday. He continues to follow the same growth curve.

50^th % height 31 in
90^th% head 19 ¾

I promise to post a picture soon, but the fever virus culminated with all-over-body rash and that just wasn't pretty.

In other life news, Ryan has accepted a full-time position with Eskridge & White, an outpatient orthopedic clinic here in Birmingham. He has spent the last 10 weeks with Eskridge at his last clinical assignment, so the transition should be fairly simple. It's a great fit for Ryan with his fitness background and a great patient base of some pro and high school athletes. His first day is Jan 3. It's hard to believe this day is almost here - what we've been working so hard for!
