A not so shameless plug!

The time has come to ask for your support in a cause that is near and dear to my heart! Most of you know, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease about 5 years ago and have seen my fair share of what this disease can do to a person!

This disease has deeply affected me and my family and this organization has meant a lot to me and my recovery. At this time there is no cure for Crohn’s, but because of research dollars funded partially through the CCFA, and a great little drug called Remicade, Ryan and I were able to start a family this year – something we weren’t sure was possible just a year ago.

I am, again, heavily involved in this year’s Take Steps for Crohn’s & Colitis Walk, on May 30 here in Birmingham. This event is the only national event that raises funds for research and awareness of these diseases. The Walk event on May 30 is at Homewood Park on a Saturday evening. It should be a fun-filled event with entertainment and fun for all ages. I hope you come out and support this cause!

There are a couple of ways that you can help:

1) Join my team and help raise funds for the Foundation (attending the Walk is optional).
2) Join my team, make a donation in your own name ($5, $10, anything!) and attend the Walk.
3) Don’t fundraise, don’t walk, just make a donation (of any amount) to my team and help cure these diseases!
4) Volunteer at the event – meet great people and help a great cause!

Crohn’s and colitis touch many people lives (one in every 200 people), so if you know someone that would be interested, please feel free to forward this information on.
