Or at least that’s what we have told ourselves over and over again this week! Ryan finished up his last exam about an hour ago, and although he sounded tired on the phone, you could sense his excitement and the huge weight lifted off his shoulder!
While he was acing his last few exams, I was acing my glucose test. Everything else with the 26-week exam went great. My belly is still measuring on track at 25.5 cm and my weight gain seems pretty steady at this point. (About 11 pounds total) I really am baffled at how great I feel! As for our little boy, his heartbeat was strong and we’ll get to “see” him at my next appointment (May 21) when I get another ultrasound (ahhh, gotta love high-risk)! I can’t wait to have more pictures to share of our growing boy!
Just a couple neat things about him this week:
- His eyes are beginning to open around this time.
- He can hear voices and sometimes I think he likes to hear Ryan’s! (I know all mothers say this, but he really does seem to respond when Ryan talks for long periods of time!)
- This kid kicks/punches/squirms like a crazy man! But I like it.
- He measures about 14 inches long and weighs about a pound and two-thirds.
Tonight, in honor of Ryan being done, we are going to the Baron’s baseball game. It does happen to be Thirsty Thursdays with dollar beers and $.25 wings although I can’t promise I will be partaking in either.
Baby Babl is the length of an English hothouse cucumber! (Whatever that is!)
